First, a little bit of weight loss news, since that IS what this blog is suppose to be about :OP You know how I've been trying to get my weight back into the 140's since June? I've been kinda floating around the 150's all this time, and my weight went all the way up to 159 recently even with my points lowered for losing (23 pts per day plus flex) for all this time. Well I finally got it back down to 153...how? By getting a WICKED case of the flu. My kids and I have been SO sick all week. Now, how do I get the loss to stick? I'm not sure what to do about my points. I can't lower them anymore, that's as low as they can go...I'm wondering if I should actually try increasing them a tad. Not as high as maintenance, but maybe somewhere in between. Or keep them lowered, and see if it works since my body may be kicked back into losing mode from being so sick. Suggestions?
Criz-tawl, to answer your comment about "Cute ... but I do feel bad for dogs that are made to wear clothes. That's not what they're meant for ... they aren't dolls!"...Missy isn't MADE to, she LOVES to and she HAS to. Why? Because she is a Yorkie and they don't have an undercoat (particularly the silkies which is what Missy is). Their fur is just like human hair, so her running round with nothing on is just like her being forced to run around naked. When she's naked, she shivers her butt off whether she's inside or outside. She's still a puppy! Do you think I cut her out sock sweaters in her earlier months just for fun? It was necessary! Otherwise her blood sugar levels would drop and she could die from a hypoglycemic attack (which she battled with anyways)! She wears clothes almost every minute of the day and night. Maybe in the summer she'll be OK, but for now she gets mad at me when I take her clothes off and comes running to have them put back on. It's very cold where I live in the winter months. Trust me, I do NOT enjoy brushing the mats out of her fur from her constantly having to wear clothes. I figure because she has to wear clothes, she might as well look cute in them. Plus, I have to custom order from a very nice lady because of her small size. She just so happens to sell gorgeous dog clothing in small sizes (www.mygofetch.com). I think it's best not to judge until you've done your research on the breed. So many people do this and it infuriates me! No, a German shephard shouldn't be made to walk around in a sweater, but a Yorkie or Chihuahua, or Mexican hairless may very well NEED to be dressed, particularly when they go outside!
Here are some more pictures of Missy DRESSED UP in all her cuteness. This is her first dress and a pic of her new trick....sticking her tongue out at me! Check out how she smiles for the camera now. SOOOOO CUTE! She's such a little angel. I love this dog :O)

Well, I think that baby is ADORABLE in her little dresses! My S'anah wears them too and so does my Norman.
Missy looks adorable dressed up. I feel sorry for people who never experience the loving bond some people have with their little furkins.
Your blog is awesome and I am inspired by what you have accomplished. Congrats to one rockin' chica!

I love her little dress! Absolutely adorable! Macy loves dressing up too =)

Your dog? Adorable!
You talked about your points a ton. I am positive you work out, but you didn't talk about that very much. If your points are low as they can go, you can add. The other thing to tweak is activity...
Good luck!!! I love your progress photos.
She's too cute! I always dress my yorkies up and they are totally fine with it. And you are right - they do get cold sometimes and clothes are a must. Although I dress mine no matter what and just because I think it's cute. If someone doesn't want to dress their dog I totally respect that, but ignorant people who think they can tell you what to do with your dog I just ignore. Obviously a lot of people dress their dogs because the pet fashion industry is a billion dollar industry
IRJessica,
I work out! I've just taken the last couple of weeks off to get my iron levels back on track and because I've had the flu the last week. But usually I run or do cardio at the gym on 5 days of the week and do a couple sessions of weights :O)
I want to say,you look absolutely amazing. You are my hero.
Your yorkie missy is a doll and her little outfits are adorable.
To the person commenting on Missy wearing clothes.
Why don't you do a little research about the breed before you make rude comments about peoples pets.
I have 5 and I will tell you they NEED! protection from the weather unlike larger breeds.
Hey maybe you should get a yorkie and the next time you comment it will be for a play date instead of a play-hate ha!ha!
Girl, I'm looking at these pictures...scrolling down thinking certainly these photos are going to stop soon, but no,they don't, you just keep getting smaller, and smaller and smaller....wow. Amazing. If it weren't for the tatoos on your arms, I wouldn't be able to tell it was the same person.
Shame on you, I saw some pictures of your baby on here naked! I can't believe you posted that baby without any clothes on. I would never....my baby Bella never leaves the house without her clothes on, and she's never been on the internet naked. My goodness. For Bella, clothes are not just for warmth. She looks adorable in them and she knows it. She acts different when she's got her clothes on. She's proud, confident and sassy! I've cook, sew and clean for my furbabies! You go !
Your little furbaby is soooo cute. gofetch.com has wonderful products. I have two Yorkies that are cold all the time and have to wear sweaters and tees. Another Yorkie absolutely hates sweaters, but, oh well, he has to wear them when he goes outside. He shakes like a leaf if I don't.
On another subject....you look absolutely wonderful, gorgeous! You're accomplishing what so many of us only dream of. Congrats!!!!!
SOOOOO freakin' cute! Love it!
I too live in a very cold state (michigan) through the winter. My mom has a hairless dog and he also wears his clothes because it is absolutley freezing for him. Your dog is adorable and tiny, so I can see why you cloth her. This person probably never saw a cold dog or something? It makes sense to me. PEACE

Awww, I love yorkies! I just got Maximus last November. He's my sweetie. I dress him up too. In fact, just today, I picked up a rain coat and bath robe. :p
Your weight loss is AMAZING! Great job! I'm also very impressed with your cake decorating skills! You ROCK!
Your pics are amazing!! I am going to send my daughter to check out your blog she needs inspiration! Oh and your furbaby looks adorable dressed up!! Go check out the cute clothes for your furbabies at:

HI! YOur furbaby is so cute. Love the duds. I dress my Mia up everyday or she would be so cold. I forgot to put her jammies on tonight and she went and laid in front of the heat dish and just looked at me!! She told me!! I am so grateful to everyone that needs a harness or a harness dress for their yorkies. I started sewing a little bit for dogs. Who knew the extra cash would be so helpful during these hard times. Keep up the good work at weight loss. You are an inspiration. I should join the club. I could use to loose 50 pounds or so.
First off, congrats on the weight loss. It was a lot of work but worth it.
Second, What's wrong with a little fashion while keeping your Yorkie warm with clothing. We're in FL and don't need to cloth our guys but understandable in colder climates like the Midwest and Canada. Zack and Zeke had Mardi Gras collars on when we went to "Yappy Hour" fund raiser a few weeks ago.
You little one is so stinking cute in her dress. Before I had a Yorkie I didn't know that they actually needed clothes for warmth. Now that I have them I know better but I had to educate myself on the subject. I would no more take them outside without clothes on than I would my children. Yorkies really do need clothes on when it's cold. They are just like humans, some get more easily chilled than others but they all need protection against the cold. You keep doing a good job protecting your baby and forget about negative comments made by people that are unknowledgable on the subject.
Amazing job on the weight loss too. Keep up the great work. Your progress is inspiring.
I think Missy looks adorable all dressed up. She's so precious! I want a small dog someday so I can dress her/him up. lol Sorry you had the flu, sweetie. I hope you are feeling better.
Hey Superstar! Congrats on the weight loss although I hate that you and your kids have been sick but hey we will take the loss huh?? :-)
You look awesome and whatever you decide your next goal should be you will acheive it!
Brian
As long as the dog doesn't mind, or it's necessary, go for it! But I just want to die from the cuteness of those pictures!!! :-D
I love the pic with her little tongue sticking out!! :)
We dress our chihuahua but not so cutely. she has almost no hair so no way to keep in the bows, even baby stick-ums! and now that we have the dalmatian-rottweiler-alaskan malamute puppy (who is already three times bigger than the chihuahua at 3 months), we are definitely not going to dress him. He will, however, get used to carrying a pack. just our thoughts! Vee at www.veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com
Great blog and very motivating. I read about your blog on another weight loss blog (kimkinsdiet.blogspot.com). I'll visit again soon. Happy losing!
Glad to see you're still doing so amazingly well with wwers! We started wwers around the same time but the only difference is that you kept losing and kept it off. I lost and gained back and did that about 10 more times.
Your pup is so cute BTW.
i love her. i love that you dress her up. SOOO cute.
I agree... German Shepherds in "I heart new york" tee shirts is stupid! Small breed dogs that wear clothes to keep warm is a necessity... even if it does make me giggle! Maybe it's my odd sense of humor or wacky brain but dressed up dogs kind of freaks me out! Not that I judge anyone or that I don't understand that some dogs NEED the clothes (because I do) it's just that it looks so... hilarious!
The only dog dressing up thing that weirds me out is the strange people who DO put tu-tu's on bull dogs, and paint their dog's nails, or die their fur funky colours... now THAT is strange!
There's NOTHING wrong with you dressing Missy up though, she needs it, and people should learn when to keep their opinions to themselves. Judgmentalism sucks in ALL forms. Criz-Tawl, you should mind your own business!!! No one asked you your opinion anyways!!!
I think your weight loss journey is an incredible one, Shrunk, and as I have a similar one laying ahead of me, I truly respect what you have accomplished. You should be very proud, not only of what you have done for yourself, but also of the inspiration that you provide to others.
On a seperate topic, I must ask, why are so many people coming down so hard on Criztawl? I read her comment and it seemed a lot more based in light-hearted commentary than as a poignant nasty remark. Plus, I went and looked at some of her prior comments and she seems to have been nothing but positive and encouraging in every other one... Shouldn't her history and tone have been taken into account before everyone jumped at her for something that was likely not meant to be hurtful?
Just found your blog and you are such a nice kick in my ass to get serious. :) I lost 85 lbs in 2006 and decided to have a third child (after canceling a scheduled tummy tuck). And while I obviously don't regret having another baby, I'm working on getting back to goal and its harder this time. I've been stuck at 172 for a month and I'm beyond frustrated.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello to another WW'er with three kids! :)
Saje, it's nice of you to defend Criztawl, but I know her a bit more than just a random commenter on my blog. She only comes across as nice because I refuse to approve the comments she's made that are inappropriate to be posted on my blog
. Criztawl knows how I feel about her and she still reads and comments on my blog. It's not very often that I feel this way about someone, but I just want her to go away.
And I'm sorry Saje if you don't get why I'm offended by her comment on me dressing my Missy. Knockin' me for dressing my dog is the same to me as saying I'm a bad parent. She is my furbaby and I'm just taking care of her the best that I can. If Criztawl didn't like that, she should have kept it to herself.
Fair enough... thank you for such a well thought out explanation. For the record, I more meant that so many other readers of your blog who had commented regarding her seemed to be doing so without any consideration as to what she is actually like. I love delving into the human psyche!
Those readers just took offence because they dress their dogs too. I don't think it had anything to do with her personally, just the comment. I don't think you truly understand unless you own a toy breed dog. You get criticized for EVERYTHING. Doing their hair, dressing them, their size, how much you paid, cooking homemade meals for them...the list goes on. I've been listening to it for 6 months without getting annoyed. I guess this was the final straw for me, and it's because of where it was coming from. I disagree with SO many things that this person has done in the past and I've NEVER EVER criticized. I don't read her blog nor do I comment on it. I can't be bothered! Anyways...I'm off to post a new pic of Missy in a dress :OP
Nice new pics (I still like the one of her with her tounge out in this post the most though)! I can't claim to be into the smaller breeds myself, but I think that as long as you're having fun and giving Missy food, shelter, and -most importantly - love (which it sounds like you are providing lots of) than what you choose to do shouldn't matter to others.
May I ask a question on a different topic though? Why are you opting to investigate a tummy tuck for yourself? I can't help but be curious since your photos certainly don't appear to show any need for such a procedure... Of course, I haven't lost the weight that you have and may feel differently if I had, and certainly I can understand as a woman that many of us are not completely secure with our bodies, but I am just wondering what your reasons were if they went beyond that. Regardless, good luck with your appointment; I hope you find what you are looking for!
People who judge SUCK! Tell them all to jump in the lake! I've discovered that most of the time when people pick you apart or judge what you're doing/saying/deciding/choosing... chances are they're just jealous that they aren't/can't do/have/make/experience what you are! Missy is adorable, and so are you! Tell all the critics to mind their own beeswax!
Hey Saje (love your name btw)
The tummy tuck was suggested by my family doctor. I was thrilled with the idea. There are many reasons tht I need a tuck, and yes it's necessary. I just hide it well I guess? I don't think there's anyway that a woman could have 3 children in 4 yrs time, and gain and lose 140+ lbs, without needing a tummy tuck LOL! Anyways, it's not just for vanity's sake, there are medical reasons for the procedure to be done as well. I will not pay 10,000 dollars to do it on my own though. If I am going to get coverage to have the procedure done, then I'll do it :O)
Thanks, Shrunk! I took what you said here and then did a bit of online research to better understand where you are coming from. I can appreciate a little more now why your doctor recommended the procedure since there are medical reasons. I suspect that if you are worried that medical won't cover it, letting them know that you are not planning on having more children (assuming this is the case, of course) may make them more likely to pay for the abdominoplasty since it shows that you are conscious of the effects that pregnancy would have on the benefits of the surgery. Perhaps also having your family doctor put a recommendation in writing so that you can take that to your appointment with the specialist (if they haven't already done so). Thanks for sharing and good luck!
...and if I may direct a comment to Krista/"Phoenix": I found your blog through this site and commented on it yesterday and then was denied access today. I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry if you took offence to my thoughts.
Saje: my blocking my blog wasn't in any way a response to your comment, which arrived in the heat of the moment of a related situation. Im hoping it was a coincidence, however I'm curious as to how certain people found my blog at precisely the same time you did... when my profile has been unlisted this whole time. Interesting...
however, I actually didn't get a chance to read your comment, before I blocked everything, I accidentally hit the delete link, sorry.
Krista/"Phoenix": As I stated above I found your blog through this site (you just click on the followers pics), as I have found several others that I thought were interesting. I'm not sure what you're implying? I know that your site is available again, but if you would prefer, I will not continue to read it. As I stated in the comment you deleted, I had trouble posting it the first time, but fortunately saved it in a word document before I sent it and so I was able to resend it. If you are interested I can post it on your blog again. Shrunk: I apologize for carrying on this conversation within your comments section, but I don't want to offend Krista/"Phoenix" by posting on her blog if it is unwanted.
Hi! I just wanted to say you look amazing!! You look like a totally different person. I love your commitment! I just started my weight loss and I have a long way to go. I weigh 211 right now and I'm about 5"2. Thanks for the inspiration. =)
